26 people turned up and Robin was the winner. Next month on the 4th of June will see the climax of the Spring season. 8 players can win the title but 3 men are in pole position. 11 players don’t feature in the cumulative table as they haven’t scored a point yet. All will be sorted out next month. Let’s hope for sun.

Broaden your Horizons

Mayday Melee on Monday May 1st – Trafford Pétanque will host a 4 round melée at the boulodrome in Victoria Park, Stretford. The event will start with its 1st round game at 1pm. Games will be timed to 50 mins plus 1 end. Entry fee is £5 and there will be prizes for the top 3 to 6 players depending on total number of players entered.

Yorkshire Pairs

Sunday was the region’s Pairs competition. The winners will go forward to represent Yorkshire as our Pairs champions to a national event later in the year. It was a long day with a 4 round snake to rank the teams and the top 4 going on to semi finals and a final making 6 games for the finalists. Brendan and Nell were the 3rd place team which is a tremendous result for the club. Here’s the complex results sheet.

Easter Egg Melee

April 9th saw 21 members all winning Easter Eggs but the best eggs went to the top 3. Only Sue, Maureen and Christine won all 3 games but Sue had the best point difference and won the first prize.
