First melee of the new season with 24 members and Brendan won all 3 games with a massive points difference of +35. Marie, Terry B, Kevin and Amy also won 3 games. Thanks to Robin and Rita for scoring. Volunteers needed for the 11 remaining monthly melees.

Huddersfield Pétanque Club wishes all members and followers the compliments of the season. Don’t forget the mulled wine and mince pies event on Tuesday 23rd December and we look forward to another exciting new year of boules in 2026. Next Monthly Mêlée is Sunday 4th January.

Sunday afternoon, in spite of the rain 13 played the full 3 round melee and the last match was played in twilight! Amy ran the competition very competently for which we are very grateful. Robin was the winner, Linda was second and Nigel was third. The overall winner was Robin with Linda and Steve P in 2nd and 3rd place. 43 members took part over the 6 months from July to September; 9 failed to trouble the scorers. Next season starts on 4th January 2026.

Robin also won the Club Champion trophy for the best overall performance over 5 events in 2025.

15 teams played 5 rounds on a crisp autumn day on Sunday 2nd November. Brendan & Jan (Menage a ducks) won 1 game, Terry & Sue (Suent) won 2 games, Paul & Doug (Double Trouble) won 3 games and came 5th but best HPC player of the day was Shirley (Double S) who came 4th with 4 wins playing with Simon who’s not an HPC player. Winners on the day were Charles and Rob (Silver Foxes) who won all their 5 games.

Robin & Rita were the organisers for the November 2nd melee. No pictures as the winners had mostly gone before results were calculated. First was Kevin, 2nd Robin and 3rd Mel D and Steve P. Cumulative scores below. Six members are possible winners but it depends on many factors including the weather. 9 people not in this table as they have yet to record a point.
