24 turned up to play for an Easter Egg. Everyone who took part won one although some eggs were bigger than others. Kevin came first with 3 wins and donated his huge egg to the second place which was Roy with 2 wins.

As well as Easter eggs there were hot cross buns to eat.

Pete and Robin shared 3rd place.

Thank you to Robin & Rita for doing today’s melee.  Joint first Alasdair & Kevin winning three games with plus 22.  Third was Sue D with 3 wins plus 7.  Thank you everyone for a lovely afternoon.

Two teams had 3 wins in the St David’s Day triples. Jan, Roy F and Nell won on points difference with Maureen, Glyn and Nigel coming second. Sue C, Roy H and Amy were third.

The International Women’s Day National Pairs event will be held on Saturday June 29th probably at Whitnash in Warwickshire. Last year the qualification for this event was part of the Ladies fun day held at the Fox. The initial intention was to repeat this but to avoid confusion it has been decided to hold 2 events. Both events are now on the playing calendar.

The IWD qualifier for Yorkshire will be held at Hollicarrs on Sunday April 7th. If there are 1 to 4 pairs in the qualifier, only the winner will qualify to represent Yorkshire at Whitnash. 5 to 11 pairs the top 2 pairs will qualify and with 12 to 23 pairs the top 4 teams will qualify.

Entry to both of these events is open to all ladies who play petanque in Yorkshire. However Petanque England membership is required for the pairs who qualify for the IWD event.
