A full terrain yesterday with 12 players from HPC and Mirfield playing a league match and over 20 others playing social games. The league result was 2-3 but the highlight of the day was the food and drink and raffle. Loads of strawberries and prosecco including for the players from Mirfield and the raffle raised over £70 for our charity this year which is Prostate Cancer. Much more sunshine than was expected. Another great day at the terrain.
Coaching
The club has arranged for Dag Nygaard, regional coach to hold a training/coaching session on Tuesday 28th June at 1000.
Anyone can attend. If you are a member of Yorkshire Pétanque it will be free. If you’re not it will be £3.
It will not be a “How to play” session like Boule School. It will be a “How to shoot and advanced techniques” session.
A list will be put on the noticeboard in the clubhouse shortly
Yorkshire Mixed Pairs
Yorkshire Mixed Pairs this sunday
Players from all over the county will be arriving early on sunday for a whole day of pétanque which will produce the Yorkshire Mixed Pairs champions. Because of this there will be no social play. It would be worth coming along for an hour or so to see some top players in action. Most of the players will be in the Yorkshire squad.
Le cercle français
On Wednesday le cercle français de Huddersfield visited our terrain pour jouer un game of pétanque. There were douze players and after un spot de practice we played deux games and added up les scores. Quatre players had won both leur games and le winner was decided by points difference. C’etait une victoire for John.
