Members enjoyed a day of glorious sunshine and a wine & cheese party on Sunday to celebrate the club’s 5th anniversary. The day started with a 40 minute timed game and then the wine was opened. A further 3 games were played and as the wine went down everyone’s skill level went up!
A lot of members helped make the day a resounding success but Sandie, Marie, Maureen, Jane, Jan, Ian and Sandra deserve a special mention. But the biggest thanks of all must go to Sue who thought of this idea to celebrate our first 5 years and was the event’s prime mover.
Everyone enjoyed the event so much that it’s been suggested that we hold more ‘themed’ events. All ideas welcome – please speak to Roy
The ‘Shotgun’ event planned for Tuesday May 14th has been postponed. A new date will be published soon. The WYL match V Mirfield will take place as normal.
A lovely sunny day saw our traditional melee for Easter. When it came to prize giving it was easy but needed to be rapid as it was approaching 25 degrees and chocolate has a melting point of only 30 in a pan and much lower on a piste.
Only 3 players had won all 3 games and Barrie took 3rd, Sandra Beech was 2nd and David 1st by just one point. Everyone who played an a few onlookers took home a Cadbury’s creme egg. Same again next Easter.
