Rainworth and Heckmondwike play one end triples tie-break for first place. 3^rd place initially awarded to Rochdale goes to Trafford following stewards enquiry.

There was a magnanimous gesture from Rainworth who donated their prize money to the HPC charity.

The final placings on the day

A great day of pétanque was had on a hot sunny day with over 70 players and spectators filling the terrains. The format was unusual consisting of leagues in the morning which split the field into Gold & Silver knockouts who played semifinals, 3rd/4th place playoff and the final.

There was lots of interest from Park runners and passers bt dropping in for look at whats going on. Many thanks to all HPC Members who helped out. We’ll probably repeat it next year.

Seven Teams in total competed for the YorkShire Petanque Ladies Doubles Competition at Huddersfield on April 13^th.  The lovely weather held out to finish the weekend off nicely. Each team played 5 games with 1 bye.

Winners were Team “LFSU”’s Lori/ & Sabrina Seville with 5 wins +36 points with second A&K Anita/ Kath 5 wins +8 points.

Second Place went to team “A & K”’s Anita Ball & Kath Westley
