Pennine League

Some time ago in times BC the west Yorkshire League was thriving with 6 teams and there were 2 clubs in the north west who wanted to join in the fun. So the organiser of the WYL drew up a similar set of documentation and invited those two clubs (Rochdale and Trafford)  to join Huddersfield and Heckmondwike in a Pennine League starting in spring and running through summer 2020. This time it was organised by Trafford and the format was not the same as the West Yorkshire league but was 4 events each hosted by one of the clubs and all 4 clubs would attend and play 3 League fixtures in a day. It meant a long day with 6 games for the teams but it was timed games so the schedule wouldn’t slip and it would finish in the daylight.

First one was at Huddersfield on Saturday 18th and it worked well. The Huddersfield squad was Robin, Shirley, Amanda, Vero, Mike, Doug and Steve and they performed well on the day. It was quite close in the end and the league table after the day was…
