Tuesday Shotgun Pairs

The shotgun part means that players are randomly drawn into teams so you could end up with anyone… There were 28 players in the hat. Brendan & Robin were drawn together. These are two of the most experienced players in the club and while this is not an automatic recipe for success they delivered on the day being the only team to win all three games.

Second on the day were Nigel, Sue W (and Moira); third were Christine and Rita W. Next competition is Thursday next week (26th) with a mixed triples. You can form your own team or turn up on the day and hope to make up a team.

October Melee

Moira and Barbara both have 3 wins out of 3 games but Moira has the better points difference to be October winner. 9 out of the top 13 were lady members. E & OE.

The race for the title hots up…

Monthly Melee

32 players on a lovely sunny day. 44 people have taken part in this competition since July. Some haven’t troubled the scorer but in December the final table will list everyone.

Bridlington Weekend

3 days of petanque with a different competition each day over the bank holiday weekend.

There were 22 pairs entered on Saturday. Brendan and Nell achieved a brilliant 3rd place. Pete & Margaret had 12th place with 2 wins, Robin & Rita 14th with 2 wins and Mike & Moira also had 2 wins & 18th place.

22 Mixed Pairs on Sunday and Robin & Rita took 7th place with 3 wins. Didier & Dominique a marqué 2 victoires pour 12eme. Pete & Margaret 14th. Brendan & Nell 16th place. Team Farnley made 19th.

Monday’s Triples only had 14 entries. Brendan & Nell teamed up with a player from another club and won 2 games but only placed 13th. This shows is that HPC teams can compete at regional level.
