Charity Pairs 27th November

This afternoon was well organised and well attended for a cold November afternoon. No-one won all 3 games which is unusual but it meant that after 2 rounds many teams were in with a chance of winning. The winning score of 2 wins and +13 points is low but shows that if you keep playing hard you could win a prize.

The event raised £83.05 for the charity.

Winter Pairs 20th November

An interesting day. For the first 4 rounds most things went well but because of some slow play in the first round there was a knock on effect and as sunset approached and rain started to fall there were some teams finished and sheltering in the clubhouse but some teams still playing the 4th round. Fortunately this didn’t affect the top 4 positions and teams who still had a game to play but didn’t want to play in the rain and the darkness decided to go home and get warm and dry.

Best HPC result was Robin & Rita who won all their 4 games and won 4th prize. Roy, Brendan and Nell won 2 games. Raffle raised over £50 and finally thank you to all the many helpers who made it a good day.

Yorkshire Winter Pairs

7 HPC members played in this event at Hollicarrs near Selby. It was 5 rounds starting about 0945 and finishing as the light gradually disappeared and the rain began. Best result for our club was Roy who was playing with a non HPC member. They won 4 games with +22 and came 3rd out of 18 teams. Paul & Christine also had 4 wins and +9 and finished 5th, Mike,.Moira, Brendan & Nell also won some games. The cumulative winter league table makes interesting reading. There are 79 players listed, Here’s the top 15.
