Charity Melee and Raffle
24th October was another date in our calendar when we raise money for our charity. In 2021 it’s Age UK Kirklees & Calderdale. This event was a 3 round melee and members donated their entry fees to the charity instead of giving out cash prizes and also bought tickets in a raffle where all prizes had been donated by individuals or club members.
The total raised was £72. The charity heard about our efforts and gave us some t shirts, collecting buckets and other goodies to help out on the day. At the end of the year we’ll add up all the money raised from the various events and present it in the new year.
Winner on the day was Kevin who won all 3 games. Nigel and Sue were runners up.
HPC player the 3rd best shooter in Yorkshire…
Out of those who entered the regional competition Brendan came a very creditable 3rd.

Club Triples Champions
Thursday 16th was the annual Triples event. A 3 around snake in nice sunny weather. No Entry fee as it was for members only and the only prize was to hold a huge trophy for 3 minutes while a photo was taken. Winners were team MJP (Margaret, Jan & Pete), team ARB (Andy, Roy & Brendan) were 2nd with team CRK ( Christine, Richard & Keith) coming in 3rd. Graham & Claire were on their 2nd visit to the club and played with new member Denise in team GCD. Unfortunately Denise had to leave after one game so team GCD became team GC.
Scores from the major club events are collated for our Champion of Champions table which determines the best player over the year. This will be finalised soon as the season is drawing to a close.
