Christine A won the event on Sunday 6th June but the overall winner of the winter league is Maureen. Here’s Robin presenting the trophy. Next Melee 4th July.

AGM today

Gorgeous blue sky for our open air AGM. All business transacted efficiently and at a distance and there was time afterwards for some social games with over 20 members. Next Sunday is Monthly melee as usual.

Please check your boules

Jane has acquired a boule that doesn’t belong to her. She plays with an Obut Match 690 but one of her boules is now an Obut Match 700. She’s only ever played at Huddersfield so someone has accidentally picked up her boule instead of their own and she has done the same. as the patterns are similar. If members could check their boules and see if they have an odd boule we can arrange a swap and everyone will be happy. Jane’s unique reference is E458.

AGM and normal play

Following the utter confusion and mixed messaging of the last few days the Government has re-issued its guidance and stated that there is no lockdown and no travel restrictions in Kirklees and the other 7 affected local authorities.

In light of this our AGM will take place as previously planned at 12:00 noon on Sunday May 30th. Please remember that as the Rule of 6 still applies indoors, the meeting will be held outside on the terrain.

Local Lockdown

The Club has just found out that Kirklees entered new restrictions last Friday meaning no-one should move in or out of the area and residents should revert to similar social distancing measures as before. The club has no option but to close all formal club activity immediately until further notice. Clubhouse is closed, AGM is postponed and there will be no organised club sessions until there is clarity and revised Government advice. Members living in Kirklees may play informally if they are happy to do so. Members from outside of Kirklees should not visit the club.
